Item Description

Snow Master TX50 Ultra Light Weight Modular Flat Black Dual Use Sport Snowmobile and street Motorcycle Full Face Helmet for Men & Women - DOT Approved for Bike Scooter ATV UTV Chopper Skateboard

The TX-50 Snow Master Helmet Series is a revolutionary developmental achievement for Snow Master Helmets. European inspired design takes the modular helmet to new places in both a pricing and overall footprint size. This helmet checks in at nearly 20 percent less physical size, than the model it replaces. Major advancements in EPS technology allow this helmet to be smaller and more compact, all the while offering every bit the protection as much larger and bulkier competitors. The helmet features significant intake venting and incredible Venturi venting for the rear exhaust. The slider based drop down visor mechanism is reminiscent of devices which cost 4 times the price. The latching system for the front chin bar features a one button release mechanism. The front bar is fastened by stainless steel posts and a metal on metal locking system. The head form fit is an intermediate oval. The shell and chin are made from a thermoplastic alloy. The liner is fully removable and machine washable. In addition to these features, this helmet comes with an electric shield and power cord, snow master storage bag and ECE and DOT certified.

    Surprisingly good

Overall a great helmet / esp considering price.

    Pros:
    1. Fit exactly as expected and is comfy for longer rides (FJR1300)
    2. It doesn’t fog up much if at all.
    3. Customizable (took out the nose/mouth insert-cover thingy, and the Velcro tabs that hold it) in several ways.
    4. Of reasonably decent materials - esp considering $$
    5. Has the option of open face for that freshness feel - awesome.
    6. Includes a pop down sun visor.
    7. Quick release chin strap is nice.
    8. Includes a heated visor (not used that yet, and may not... but it’s there)
    9. It slips on over my reading glasses when the chin piece is up.
    10. Quiet at over 80mph - cruising for a good amount of time will work well.
    11. The little chin cover works perfectly for my nogin.

    Cons:
    1. Not a Shoei quality- lol- expected.
    2. The clarity of the visor is slightly “soft”, which I attribute to having a dual layer to accommodate the heater. This has the bonus of preventing fogging though (a la pinlock).
    3. The back of the helmet is sort of high for my taste, meaning you feel the cold on the back of your neck above color line. Not sending it back though - love it too much.
    4. The heater nodule/connector is part of the visor, and so you have to live with that odd little part sticking out. I tested it at (ahem...) 80+ mph, and it doesn’t make a sound.

So, as I am spending way too long on writing this, you can probably tell that I’m pretty darned happy with the purchase and would buy it again in a heartbeat.
